The long history of this extraordinary hotel is about love and happiness, passion and commitment. Join us on a short journey through time. Find out more about the beginnings in 1223 as a Vollmeierhof and the conversion to an Art Nouveau villa in 1882. The first guests stayed here as early as 1977. The restaurant was added in 1986 and the wellness area in 1989. Read what happened when a fire destroyed the hotel in 1990 and how the history of the Parkhotel continues to this day. 1223 The foundation stone

In Bilm, the noble de Billenhem family resides at Vollmeierhof no. 45, on which the Parkhotel will one day stand. After the de Billenhems, a von Lüpke family is named in the register of heirs as the owners of the 60-acre farm in 1617.

1817 The site is sold

Chief forester Georg von Lüpke is heavily in debt and has to sell the Vollmeierhof in parcels. One of the buyers is the Bauermeister family, who run a farm in the neighborhood.

1882 Friedrich Bauermeister

Friedrich Bauermeister made it from a farm boy in Bilm to the chamberlain of Prince Ernst August, the head of the House of Hanover. Prince Ernst August also bears the British title of Duke of Cumberland. Bauermeister is a trained accountant and achieves great prestige and wealth in Vienna. and wealth in Vienna. In 1882, he acquired another plot of land on the site of the Vollmeierhof for a villa.

1904 A building of love

Within sight of his parents' house, Bauermeister had a magnificent villa built, a patrician house in the neoclassical style - it was built out of love. He had met the capricious castle actress Engel Sofia Victoria Luise Traphagen in Vienna and she became his second wife. Bauermeister had an elaborate stucco arch with the words "Grüß Gott" ("Greetings") erected in the entrance area of the villa. Soon people in Bilm were talking about the "love nest". But the happiness in the "Villa Bauermeister", as the building is now called, does not last long. Shortly after the villa was completed, Bauermeister died. The diva is rarely in Bilm, country life is not her style, she prefers to live in the big city of Hanover.

1941 The villa goes to a new owner

When the castle actress dies, the Bauermeister Bauermeister heirs sell the villa to the to the haulage contractor Rödiger.

1977 The villa becomes a hotel

Edith and Geerd Budde from Hanover-Buchholz are fulfilling a lifelong dream. The couple buys the Villa Bauermeister from the antiques dealer Rödiger, together with the 5000 square meter park. Geerd Budde is an architect, he has the house extensively renovated and converts it into a hotel garni with 16 rooms. It opens in spring 1978 and soon enjoys a good reputation throughout the Hanover region under the name "Park-Hotel Bilm".

1981 The Parkhotel is being extended

The Parkhotel is extended to 52 rooms, a banquet room and a seminar room are added, as well as a wellness area with swimming pool, sauna and fitness room. The rooms are equipped with every comfort for the time: shower/WC, radio, telephone and color TV.

1985 A new generation

A new generation takes the helm. Son Achim Budde, a graduate in tourism business administration, joins the business with his wife Petra, a graduate in business administration and housekeeper. In the fall of the year, the Parkhotel Bilm joins the hotel cooperation "Relais du Silence".

1986 Restaurant Cumberland

The hotel opens the elegant "Cumberland" restaurant with 200 invited guests.

1989 Renovations and extensions

The entire swimming pool and sauna area is renovated. The restaurant area is being extended to include the conservatory and a large terrace, so that guests can now enjoy the 5000 square meter park in both summer and winter.

1990 The fire in the hotel

Shortly before Christmas, an arsonist sets fire to the basement of the hotel at night. A passer-by sees the glow of the burning laundry and alerts the fire department. Fortunately, there are no guests in the hotel, but the smoke contaminates half the hotel, which is closed for a while. 120 guests who had booked to visit the restaurant at Christmas had to be canceled. Together with regional companies, the hotel is spruced up again for the well-booked trade fair in January.

1993 Overnight stays, conferences, celebrations

"Overnight stay, meetings, celebrations" - this is the is the motto of a new concept for the hotel. The "Cumberland" restaurant will be closed and replaced by a dinner service. All hotel guests now have the opportunity to take part in a hot and cold buffet.

1995 Quality award

The classicist exterior façade of the hotel is completely refurbished. As one of the first hotels in Germany, the hotel is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and is now part of the hotel cooperation "Akzent Hotel" - the Parkhotel is proud of this quality award.

1997 New philosophy and Christmas house

In the guidelines "Our Quality Policy '97", the philosophy of the hotel becomes clear: "Our guests are at the center of everything we do". The Parkhotel not only wants to have satisfied guests, but also enthusiastic ones. This results in the new slogan "Your hosts out of enthusiasm". Just in time for the start of the first "Christmas House" in December, the "Parkatelier" restaurant is opened in a Mediterranean style with a professional buffet system. With angels, shepherds, Santa Claus and Santa Claus and an adventure program, the hotel is transformed into an imaginatively decorated "Christmas House" - the success with guests young and old ensures that the hotel will offer the "Christmas House" experience gastronomy for four weeks every December in future.

2001 Event rooms are being renovated

2003 25th anniversary

2004 The inclusive concept

2006 Redesign of the park

The park is being redesigned and upgraded with a large terrace and a beer garden. In the garden itself, an idyllic stream, a barefoot path leading to a hidden sunbathing lawn and a small Japanese corner are being created. Herb and flower beds are lovingly planted and a beautiful pavilion is erected, where numerous wedding ceremonies are now held in the park in the shade of the old treetops. On warm summer nights, many a marriage proposal is accepted over a romantic candlelit dinner. The statue by sculptor Karl Cauer is also an eye-catcher. The hotel and seminar area is brought up to date. The Christmas House celebrates its tenth anniversary.

2008 A wedding room is created

The rooms around the hotel bar are redesigned and the wedding room is redesigned. The Parkhotel Bilm looks back on 30 successful years.

2011 The wellness area is being renovated and expanded

The wellness area around the swimming pool is extensively renovated and expanded. Now there is also a Finnish sauna with a garden view, a steam bath, experience showers and a spacious relaxation room. This year, Bilm (part of the town of Sehnde since 1974) celebrates its 777th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a memorial stone with a coat of arms plaque will be erected in front of the hotel, which will later take its final place at the small Bilm chapel.

2012 "in luck"

The hotel is given its current name "Parkhotel Bilm im Glück". As in 1997, the bosses and staff thought about how to further develop the slogan "Your hosts with enthusiasm". The addition "im Glück" makes it clear that Bilm and the Parkhotel stand for peace and contentment, that guests will find an idyll here where they can be happy - whether as business travelers or short breaks, as seminar and conference guests or as participants in weddings and other celebrations. The hotel will be awarded its fourth star in September.

2014 Sylvia and Mirco Hatesuer take over the hotel

On May 1, Sylvia and Mirco Hatesuer Hatesuer take over the hotel from the Budde family. Hotel manager Sylvia Hatesuer has been hotel manager at the Parkhotel for a long time, where she played a decisive role in the new hotel concept. She is well known to the regular guests and, together with her husband, will continue to run the hotel in the spirit of a family business. Mirco Hatesuer is a creative chef and master chef who has toured the country's kitchens. The two met and fell in love at the Parkhotel in 1992. Thus, 110 years after the construction of the Villa Bauermeister, the circle is complete.

2017 Sustainability

Sustainability is a top priority at the Parkhotel 2018 Bilm. The hotel and the entire team are trying to protect the environment with many small steps and one or two big ones. The following measures have already been implemented: Purchase of two combined heat and power units and energy-saving appliances such as heat pump dryers. The Parkhotel also uses its own water to reduce transportation emissions. It is also switching to LED lighting and using recycled paper towels and toilet paper. Flexible room cleaning is offered to guests as required.

2019 The Hatesuer family renovates

Over the past 5 years, more than 35 rooms and function rooms in the Parkhotel have been renovated. The Hatesuer family invests heavily in the renovation of the new entrance and a new kitchen. The conference area also undergoes further development. The fireplace room can be booked as a creative room with various seating options and team games such as Brain the Box - solve Victoria's Secret, are offered free of charge. The park is being redesigned with lounge furniture.

A really great hotel where the name says it all. The feeling of happiness comes at the latest after the first step into the room! Extremely attentive staff at reception and in the restaurant. The room was huge and of the finest quality! Small touches everywhere, the swimming and sauna area is beautifully designed. All in all, an excellent hotel where I felt very comfortable....
